Refunds and Cancellations
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson?
We require at least a 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule an in-car lesson without penalty. Because our instructors' schedules are highly coordinated, cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice-or no-shows-are subject to a $60 cancellation fee to cover the instructor's reserved time and the vehicle. This fee must be paid before the next lesson can be scheduled.
Safety & Parent Concern
Are your instructors licensed and background-checked?
Yes. Every instructor at Premier Driving School is fully licensed and certified by the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS). This licensing process includes rigorous state and federal background checks, driving record evaluations, and extensive professional training.
How safe are your training vehicles?
Safety is our absolute top priority. Our fleet consists of late-model sedans outfitted with commercial-grade dual-control passenger brakes, allowing the instructor to safely stop the vehicle at any time. Every car is also equipped with 360-degree interior and exterior dashcams for complete accountability and peace of mind.
Can a parent ride along in the back seat during a lesson?
For safety, to minimize distractions, and to ensure the student maintains full focus on the road and the instructor, we do not permit passengers in the vehicle during lessons. However, our 3-channel cabin dashcams record every session to ensure total transparency.
24-Hour Online Course
How long do I have to finish the online course?
Ohio law requires students to complete the 24-hour online course within six months of registering. If you do not finish the coursework within this timeframe, the state requires you to restart the curriculum from the beginning.
How do I get my online Certificate of Completion once it is completed?
Once you pass the final online exam, your official ODPS Certificate of Completion will be generated emailed to you within 5 business days. You can download and print it right from your student portal. You will need this physical printout to begin your driving lessons.
Do I have to finish the online course before I can start driving?
Yes, we require students to complete the full 24-hour online course and obtain their Certificate of Completion before scheduling their first in-car lesson. This ensures every student has a solid understanding of right-of-way rules, signs, and traffic laws before getting behind the wheel.
Road Test
Can I use your car for my official BMV road test?
Yes! If you purchase our Teen Complete Package, the use of our fully insured training vehicle for your official Ohio driving and maneuverability test is included. This takes the stress out of the exam, allowing you to test in the exact same car you learned to drive in.
Do you practice the maneuverability test?
Absolutely. We dedicate specific time during each behind-the-wheel lesson to practice the exact cone setup required by the state. We make sure students are confident and well-prepared for this portion of the exam.
What happens if I fail the road test?
It happens to the best of us! If a student does not pass, the BMV requires them to wait at least seven days before retesting. If you need extra practice, we offer additional refresher lessons and re-testing packages to help you get back on track and pass with confidence.
Additional Costs & Fees
Are there any hidden fees for gas, mileage, or insurance?
Absolutely not. The price you see for our driving packages is all-inclusive. Gas, vehicle wear-and-tear, and our comprehensive commercial fleet insurance are entirely covered by Premier Driving School.
Is there a fee if I lose my Certificate of Completion?
Your initial ODPS Certificate of Completion is included in your course fee and can be printed directly from your student portal. If you require our office to generate a replacement physical certificate due to loss or damage, there is a $15 administrative replacement fee.
Do I have to pay extra to use your car for the official BMV road test?
If you purchased our Teen Complete Package, the use of our safety-equipped training vehicle for the final road test is already included in the price! If you purchased a smaller package and would like to add the road test service later, it is available for an additional flat fee.
8-Hours BTW Lessons
What training requirements does the state of Ohio require for a driver's license?
The State of Ohio requires all individuals 15 1/2 to 20 years old (and Limited Term) complete a 24-hour in-person/online classroom instruction plus 8-hours of behind-the-wheel training. For additional information visit Ohio BMV.
What should the student bring to their driving lesson?
Students must bring their physical, valid Ohio Temporary Instruction Permit Identification Card (TIPIC). If the permit indicates corrective lenses are required, the student must wear their glasses or contacts. By law, we cannot conduct the lesson without these items present.
Where do you pick up and drop off students?
Pick up and drop off take place at Premier Driving School on Central Ave.
How do I schedule my driving hours?
Scheduling is simple through our online student portal. Once you have uploaded your Certificate of Completion and your valid temporary permit, you can view our instructors' live calendars and book your four 2-hour driving sessions at times that fit your schedule.
What is your cancellation or no-show policy?
We require a 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson. Because our instructors schedules book up quickly, late cancellations or no-shows are subject to a $60 rescheduling fee to cover the reserved time and vehicle.
